Ochota Biocentre Consortium
Ochota Biocentre is a scientific consortium established on 1 January 2008 by six institutes which are located at Ochota Campus in Warsaw.
Ochota Biocentre members are:
- Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS
- Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, PAS
- Mossakowski Medical Research Center, PAS
- Nałęcz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering, PAS
- Institute of Fundamental and Technological Research, PAS
- International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology
With over 1000 scientists publishing yearly over 350 scientific papers, Ochota Biocentre is one of the largest research centres in Poland. The main goal of Ochota Biocentre is to consolidate the research potential of its participants who are capable of carrying out extensive research activities in disciplines such as biology, medicine and bioengineering.
All Ochota Biocentre institutes are involved in implementation of two large projects financed by structural funds:
Ochota Biocentre - IT infrastructure for the development of strategic directions in biology and medicine
The project is coordinated by IBB PAS. The basic assumption underlying Ochota Biocentre is the concentration and the use of considerable scientific potential, represented by a large group of experts working in the institutes on the preparation of large research projects that go beyond the capabilities of the activity of individual laboratories. The Consortium's tasks overlap with the statutory area of the Institutes based on the topics of biology, medicine and bioengineering.
