Mossakowski Medical Research Centre Polish PAS
It is the largest Institute of Medical Sciences Faculty and the only institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences conducting research both in the field of medical biology and clinical medicine. Resolution of the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences (originally under the name Centre for Experimental and Clinical Medicine PAS) was established on 1 July 1967.
In IMDIK PAS employs over 300 people, including 140 academic staff: 61 professors, 43 lecturers and 36 assistants. The remaining staff are employees of R & D technicians, engineering technicians and administrative staff.
Employees engaged in IMDIK basic and clinical research in the field: physiology, neurobiology, Neuroimmunology, neurochemistry, neuropathology, neurology, neurosurgery, transplantation experimental, nephrology, genetics, epigenetics, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry and cell biology at the ultrastructural level: immunocytochemicznym and histochemical.
IMDIK Animal Sciences has, which runs its own breeding small rodents in SPF standard and immunization services and conducts commissioned studies using animals.
The Institute conducts doctoral studies, is currently giving 43 scholarships to young researchers.
The Institute is one of the members of the Consortium of Scientific Ochota Biocentre. He is also a member of the Centre for Advanced Technology in Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Applied Computer Science (CZT BIM), and also co-creates a number of scientific networks.
Established at the Institute in 2004, Integrated Medical Chemistry Centre of Excellence coordinates a multi neuropeptides neuropeptide research efforts to develop a new generation of drugs.
IMDIK Sciences, together with the Association of Polish Neuropathologists publishes the journal "Folia Neuropathologica." (http://www.termedia.pl/Journal/-20). The journal is indexed by the Institute of Philadelphia.
