Microarrays Analyses Laboratory
The facility allows the microarray analysis of gene expression, SNP genotyping and resequencing using Affymetrix products. The Microarray Core Facility is equipped by the latest: Affymetrix GeneChip instruments including GeneChip 640 Hybridization Oven, GeneChip 450 Fluidics Station and GeneChip 3000 7G Scanner. The facility has also Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer, NanoDrop ND-1000 Spectrophotometer and Applied Biosystems GeneAmp PCR System 9700 Thermal Cycler. The facility provides "full chip service", which starts from the RNA/DNA samples and ends by exporting the results analyzed by our bioinformatics team.
DNA Sequencing and Oligonucleotide Synthesis Laboratory
Our laboratory has strong competence in classical and molecular genetics. We are experts in DNA sequencing, assembly of sequences and informatics interpretation of the data. We have successfully sequenced thousands of PCR products, plasmids, and BACs. Our DNA sequencing services are highly rated for their turnaround time, quality of results, and competitive prices. Oligo.pl Offers: Next Generation Sequencing DNA Sequencing from Purified Templates: We sequence extracted templates using either stock universal primers or custom primers. Plasmid Extraction and DNA Sequencing from Bacterial Cultures. Custom Projects: We can design and optimise PCRs for sequences or produce finished genomic sequencing. The Capillary Separation Service: We run prepared and cleaned reaction, sequencing and genotyping.Synthesis: We synthesize standard DNA or fluorescent tagged oligomers.
Proteomics Laboratory (within the Department of Biophysics)
Environmental Laboratory of Mass Spectrometry except own research, leads commercial analysis of: mass measurement of biological molecules,·identification of samples' peptides composition, identification and localization of posttranslational modifications, quantitation of organic compounds in biological matrices. Since December 2010 the scope of laboratory activity has been extended over to the analysis of small molecules to the needs of forensic research, metabolomics and quantitative analysis of medicaments and their metabolites in biological specimens. The Laboratory is equipped with the most advanced instruments on the market and computational platform, which guarantee execution of analysis within 5 working days.
Biological NMR Laboratory
Laboratory of biological NMR is equipped with two spectrometers operating at magnetic fields of 9,4 and 11,7 T. Our primary aim is to study structure and dynamics of proteins and peptides in solution, but we are also capable of performing commercial research in fields like: characterization of small molecules properties, determination of protein three-dimensional structures in solution, protein dynamics, mapping of protein-protein binding interfaces and interactions, determination of changes in protein conformation.

Baculovirus Service
The Baculovirus Laboratory offers high-quality service for gene expression in insect cells. The baculovirus system is a powerful eukaryotic expression system with the level of expression as high as 100mg per liter of culture. It produces the recombinant proteins with the antigenical and functional properties similar to the native mammalian proteins. Baculovirus Expression Service is divided into a series of steps: target gene cloning, expression trials and amplification of the recombinant virus necessary for long-term expression work. These steps can be performed either individually or in combination. For proteins cloned with histidine tag, the additional service includes protein purification. All steps are made in serum-free medium to ensure safety and to yield a high purity of the recombinant protein.
Peptide Synthesis Laboratory (within department of Biophysics)
Our service include: preparation of linear peptides, peptides libraries, peptide-resins, peptidomimetics, cleavage reactions. Peptide modifications: cyclization, unnatural amino acids, D-amino acids, formation of disulphides, biotynylation, N-acetylation, C-amidation. All peptides are analysed by high-pressure liquid chromatography and mass spectroscopy.
Confocal and Fluorescence Microscopy Laboratory
Complete photographical service is available expertise in the field of image processing and analysis assistance and advice in use of the equipment IBB PAS

The Bank holds a collection of over 9000 different plasmids, bacteria, bacteriophages and yeast available to internal and external researchers.
OmniLog Phenotype MicroArrays (PMs)
Phenotype MicroArrays represent the third major technology, alongside DNA Microarrays and Proteomic Technologies, that is needed in the genomic era of research and drug development . PMs make it possible to quantitatively measure thousands of cellular phenotypes all at once. It is an integrated system of cellular assays, instrumentation, and bioinformatic software for high-throughput screening (HTS) of cells. PMs can monitor, either directly or indirectly, most known aspects of cell function.
The range of phenotypes includes:
- Cell surface structure and transport functions
- Catabolism of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur
- Biosynthesis of small molecules
- Synthesis and function of macromolecules and cellular machinery
- Cellular respiratory functions
- Stress and repair functions
- Other cellular properties
Multiple Uses of PM Technology
- Phenotype cell lines
- Phenotypically authenticate cell lines
- Analyze collections of natural isolates
- Analyze mutants
- Analyze gene function
- Screen chemical libraries and develop drugs
- Optimize cellular production processes
